Avenues for Success® Summer BLAST Camp

Avenues for Success® wrapped up our first ever, eleven week Summer Blast Camp on August 10th. Summer BLAST was held at Shea Stadium. Our campers enjoyed daily sunshine at the pool and parks. Lots of learning “experiences” occurred as the campers enjoyed daily mini camps from the following; Ambient Studios, Live It Like You Mean It, Drake Planetarium, Newport Aquarium, Skool Aid, The Spanish Academy of Cincinnati, Dramakinetics, and Norwood Community Television. Along with the mini camps more daily learning “experiences” occurred with; Library Time with Ms. Lisa, Hands-on Science with Ms. Crystal, Jewelry Design with Mr. Reggie, Swimming Lessons with Norwood Recreation, and Sign Language with Mr. Chase.

Daily lunch and snacks were supplied through the Methodist Church Summer Lunch Program. We were very grateful for their generosity and kindness!

A special thanks to our wonderful BLAST Counselors! FYI…Five Counselors are Norwood Graduates, all former Avenues for Success students AND…all enrolled in college!
